Youth Mental Health First Aid

Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) is an 8-hour course that teaches adults how to help a young person who may be experiencing a mental health problem or crisis.  The training helps adults identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness or substance abuse.  Participants that complete the full 8-hour course will receive a "certificate of completion" that is good for 3 years.

This 8-hour course teaches:

-Risk factors, warning signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use disorder.

-Information on depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis and addiction disorders.

-Five-step action plan for helping a young person who is experiencing a mental health problem ot crisis.

DINNER will be PROVIDED.
